The project involved interviewing key volunteers involved with the project and also incorporating some local history.

Read this story on the grassroots community project that is Turanga Gardens, Gisborne. The gardens are on the top of Cook Hospital Hill, overlooking the city. The project was started by the Turanga Lions Club in 2001, and a small group of volunteers continues to look after the gardens.

Due to the impacts of Cyclone Gabrielle, the gardens are currently closed.
